Israel: The Priest Of God Part 2

            Who is this Melchizedek king of Salem?  Let's find out.

(Heb:7,1-7)

1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

² To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
³ Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
⁴ Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

First Salem is short for Jerusalem, and there is only one King of Jerusalem and that is Jesus. In this short blog we will show you Melchizedek is Jesus. The Prophets talked about him being the King of Jerusalem.

Zac:9,9-11

• ⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
• ¹⁰ And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
• ¹¹ As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

Now let's look at this same statement in the new covenant

Matt:21,1-5 

21 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

² Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
³ And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
⁴ All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
⁵ Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. 

This is Jesus King of Jerusalem, which is also called Salem, just as Melchizedek was called King of Salem priest of the Most High God.

In Ex:28- And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons. To be a priest you had to come out of Levi, thus the Levitical Priesthood.

Just as God called Aaron and his sons to the Priesthood, God also called Jesus to the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek.

Ps110,1-5

The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

² The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
³ Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
⁴ The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Now let's find out where the Lord hath sworn, and will not repent

Heb:6-`16,20 
¹⁶ For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
¹⁷ Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
¹⁸ That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
¹⁹ Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
²⁰ Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb:5,1-10 

⁴ And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
⁵ So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
⁶ As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
⁸ Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
¹⁰ Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Is;32-1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. This is Jesus

Is:9-6   For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

I believe with the scriptures provided we can clearly see Jesus and  Melchizedek are the same. Part one
