Israel: The Priest Of God
Israel The Priest Of God
In this blog we will show you Israel was called to be The Priest Of God. They were chosen and appointed to this office by God to teach all the sons of Adam his laws statues and judgements and to keep his commandments, so at your end eternal life is there for you. Let us start by hearing what the Lord had to say about Israel.
{Ex:19,4-8} Moses went up to Mt. Sinai to meet God, and the Lord called unto him out of the mountains saying
- 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
- 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
- 6 And ye shall be unto me a Kingdom of Priests, an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
- 7And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the Lord commanded him.
- 8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord.
- 28 And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
- 2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.
- 3 And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.
6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest's office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Deut:18,1-2 The Lord announce the inheritance of the Levites
The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the Lord made by fire, and his inheritance.
2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the Lord is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
Numb:3,5-9 The Levites were wholly given to Aaron and his sons
- 5 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
- 6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
- 7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
- 8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
- 9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
Deut:18,15-19 The Lord said he would raise up a prophet like unto Moses
- 15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
- 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
- 17 And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
- 18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. {Jn:5-30}
- 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Amos:3,2-3
- 2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
- 3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. Paul is telling us, God gave Israel everything because they were the only people he knew. We also learned in these scriptures Christ is an Israelite, and so is Paul.
Rom:3,1-2
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God, or The Answers.
So far the scripture show how God gave the priesthood solely to Israel buy way of the Levites, Moses being the intercessor. God talked to Moses face to face. {Ex:33-11}.
Heb:6,17-20 Jesus made a High Priest after the order of Melchizedek:
- 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
- 18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
- 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
- 20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
